Silverado HD (2010+)
In 2011 both the Chevrolet Silverado HD series was revised to make what was a good thing even better. A host of new Heavy Duty upgrades to reaffirm the Silverado HD’s status as the world’s best Heavy Duty Pick Up truck…

The entire chassis, driveline and braking system have been overhauled. Here you can see the 2011 chassis to the left. The new 2011 chassis is fully boxed through its entire length providing superior rigidity increasing payload and improving handling.
To support the heavier payload the suspension was redesigned to include longer, wider leaf springs, heavier torsion bars and oversized shock absorbers.
The upgrades didn’t stop there, new oversized brakes have been included specifically designed for heavy applications and to reduce brake fade under continued braking situations.
To complement the massive 4 wheel disc brakes is the factory standard exhaust brake. This exhaust brake is very similar to that found on most heavy haulage trucks. It’s essentially a valve that closes in the exhaust system to help slow the vehicle using the engine drag instead of the brakes.
This increases brake life while providing a safer and more comfortable towing experience.
To further ensure the Silverado HD’s position as a class leader the engineers upgraded the engines horsepower and torque ratings to a massive 397hp/297kw and 775lb/1,049Nm of torque.
This results in a truck that weighs just over 3,000kg that is capable of running 0-100kph while carrying a driver, fuel and 750kg in an amazing 7.66 seconds!!
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through the incredible Allison 6 speed automatic transmission which features a triptronic manual shift mode and a driver selectable automatic tow/haul mode that reprograms the transmission allowing greater control while under load.
This tow/haul model down-shifts while descending a hill or even while slowing at the traffic lights to reduce the required braking effort.
All trim packages have been retained along with a few additions…
WT – Work truck package now comes standard with air conditioning and cruise control. All previous features such as dual air bags, full instrumentation, manual windows, rubber floors and cloth seats are retained. Ideal for mining and fleet applications.
LT - All LT features have been retained including; power windows, power mirrors, velour trim (optional leather), tinted windows, CD stereo, dual glove boxes, under seat storage, folding front centre seat or optional front bucket seats.
LTZ - The LTZ comes standard with leather trimmed 12 way power operated front seats, both with seat heaters and for 2012 models optional seat coolers.
Avalanche
The 2002 model year saw the introduction of a vehicle that in many ways revolutionized the term SUV. For many years SUV’s provided ample space and comfort for passengers however lacking in a rugged, durable cargo area suitable for anything from your briefcase to motorbikes to firewood.
We welcome the Chevrolet Avalanche, a full sized cross breed stemmed from a parentage of the Chevrolet Suburbans’ luxurious refinement and the Chevrolet Silverado’s rugged durability…

In 2007 the Chevrolet Avalanche was redesigned from the ground up. A new coil-over shock front suspension system replaces the older torsion bar system further enhancing what was already a luxury car type ride quality.
The rear multi link coil spring suspension has been tuned and is also available with self-levelling capability to assist with additional payload and trailer ball weight.
The Avalanche upholds the heritage that has made Chevy Trucks the most dependable, longest-lasting trucks on the market fitted with the popular and fuel efficient 5.3ltr V8 VORTEC.
The 5.3ltr VORTEC delivers a wonderful balance of horsepower (up to 315hp), torque and fuel efficiency.
The efficient 5.3ltr V8 has been further improved and is now available with 315hp and optional displacement on demand. A system that shuts down four cylinders when they’re not required helping an engine that was already regarded as being fuel efficient become even better.
In 2009 the driveline was further improved with the introduction of the 6 speed automatic transmission, this 6 speed is rated for higher torque loads than its 4 speed predecessor while also providing smoother acceleration through the range.
The Avalanche comes loaded with interior features including dual-zone heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system, allowing the driver and passenger to control their own temperature requirements.
Also available with selected trim packages:
Bose sound system which includes a 6 disc, in-dash CD changer, Bose amplifier, 6 bose speakers plus a sub woofer, Optional headrest mounted DVD screens and a steering wheel mounted integrated control system.
The Avalanche’s Midgate, part of what Chevrolet calls its Convert-a-Cab System, is the missing link between the SUV and the Pick up truck. Functioning like a tailgate in the middle of the truck the Midgate quickly folds down, along with the rear passenger seats, to instantly provide more bed space and storage capacity.
Taking versatility to a new level the Avalanche also allows for the rear window to be removed with the midgate either up or down. The glass sits into the midgate behind the rear seats in a protected recess. The entire midgate system can be operated by a single person in around a minute.
The ute bed is covered by three removable Pro-Tec composite panels which seal the bed much like a car boot allowing for safe, dry storage of your valuables. The bed also features two lockable side storage pockets and locking rear tailgate.
