In House Manufacture

As well as the new components discussed we also make many other changes and instigate many major and minor enhancements. We manufacture all dashboard components, firewall components, brakes, electrical looms, and air conditioning lines. This is all done in-house to ensure a high quality standard.

>ABS Brake System is relocated and accelerator assemblies are re   manufactured so the foot brake and power booster function are to   specification. Brake lines are re manufactured and relocated.
>Safety belt anchorages are re manufactured and relocated to ADR Standards.
>Electric window controls are converted to right hand drive specifications.
>Heater unit is re manufactured for right hand drive to give greater passenger   foot clearance as well as more efficient demisting and defogging.
>The firewall is seamless welded and then repainted for added strength and   factory finish.
>Air intake is converted across to balance engine bay.
>Windscreen wiper bottle is relocated with new washer fittings.
>All electrical fittings are soldered and shrink-wrapped.
>All electrical wiring is encased in heat retardant shielding; both under bonnet,   under car and under dashboard.We remove all front sheet metal down to   chassis level, engine/transmission is taken out and all interior components   including carpet and all moulds are removed - then conversion begins.

Finally, each vehicle is checked by certified independent engineers, once approved is issued with engineering certificate in accordance with the compliance laws from the Department of Transport and Road Safety, Canberra.

It is important to know that we are the manufacturer and are the licenced compliance plate holder – WE KNOW OUR VEHICLES.

Every vehicle must have a vehicle identification plate attached under the bonnet. This Identification plate must match to the company that is building or converting the vehicle. Sale of Identification plates is illegal.

1. Windscreen wipers should be converted from left sweep to right hand drive sweep. This is an important issue. If they are not converted you are left with a major blind spot on the right hand side of the screen. This is dangerous in the wet weather, or if the screen has a build up of road grime, mud or dust.

2. The steering shaft linkage should clear the exhaust manifold by at least 10 MM. Otherwise the heat generated will reduce the life of the bearings and steering vibrations can occur.

3. We use genuine factory headlights. The four-headlight system used on C/K classic models allows for full adjustment of beams, no cutting of the radiator support panel (loss of structural integrity) or grill. Under no circumstance can the original US lights be used in Australia (this is illegal). They dip to the wrong side of the road and will blind the on coming traffic, this is illegal and unsafe.

4. Electric window and mirror controls should be converted across to the right hand side. This will allow the driver to control both left and right hand windows and mirrors.

5. Soldered and shrink wrapped electrical wiring in the loom. All under bonnet wiring should be wrapped in fire retardant casing, as per factory. There should be no exposed wiring.
